This Privacy Statement sets out the basis on which we will process any personal information that we may collect about you as a visitor to any of CBC’s websites, including broadsightsystems.com, ganzsecurity.com, ganzcortrol.com, computarganz.com, cbcamerica.com or premises, or as a contact at one of our customers, suppliers, or other business partners. This Privacy Statement does not apply to the collection or processing of personal data by any other member of the CBC Group.
We may collect and process the following information about you:
INFORMATION THAT YOU GIVE US
We may use your information for various purposes, including the following:
From time to time, we may need to review information about you held in our systems – including the contents of and other information related to your emails and other communications with us – for compliance and business-protection purposes, as described above. This may include reviews for disclosure of information relevant to litigation and reviews of records relevant to internal or external regulatory or criminal investigations. To the extent permitted by applicable law, these reviews will be conducted reasonably and proportionately and approved at an appropriate level of management. They may ultimately involve the disclosure of your information to governmental agencies and litigation counterparties, as described below.
We will only process your personal information as needed to pursue the purposes described above, and then only where we have concluded that our processing does not prejudice you or your privacy in a way that would override our legitimate interest in pursuing those purposes. In exceptional circumstances, we may also be required by law to disclose or otherwise process your personal information. We will tell you, when we ask you for compliance with a legal obligation or, on the other hand, if it is purely voluntary and there will be no implications if you decline to provide the information. Otherwise, you should assume that we need the information for our business or compliance purposes (as described above).
CBC is not in the business of selling personal information about our users to third parties. However, we may disclose information about you, including personal information, to other members of the CBC Group and/or for the purposes described above. These disclosures may involve transferring your personal information outside of the United States. You should be aware that this may include transfers to countries outside the European Economic Area (“EEA”), which do not have similarly strict data privacy laws. In those cases, where we transfer personal data to other members of the CBC Group or our service providers, we will ensure that our arrangements with them are governed by data transfer agreements, designed to ensure that your personal information is protected, on terms approved for this purpose by the European Commission. Please contact us (see below) if you would like to know whether any such agreements are in place or to see a copy.
Our websites are hosted in the United States and are generally intended for United States visitors. If you visit one of our websites from outside the U.S., please be aware that you are transferring personal information to the United States and that the laws governing the collection and use of this information may differ from the laws in your region. Notwithstanding the foregoing, if you are in the EU or the EEA, please be advised that CBC America LLC is the controller of your personal information. Our legal basis for collecting and using your personal information will depend on the personal information concerned and the specific context in which we collect it. However, we will normally collect personal information from you only where we have your consent to do so, where we need the personal information to perform a contract with you, or where the processing is in our legitimate interests and not overridden by your data protection interests or fundamental rights and freedoms. In some cases, we may also have a legal obligation to collect personal information from you.
