May 5, 2025 – Mebane, NC - Computar®, a leading lens manufacturer, today announced the full availability of its high-resolution, ruggedized MPX Series, with all seven models now released. Engineered for demanding machine vision applications, these C-mount lenses feature robust 10G anti-vibration and shock resistance, making them ideal for inspection tasks and harsh industrial environments.
Despite their rugged build, the MPX lenses are lightweight and compact. They are fully compatible with modern high-resolution sensors utilizing pixel sizes of 2µm or smaller. A key feature enhancing usability is the precision focus adjustment mechanism, enabled by a focus rotation angle three times wider* than that of conventional lenses.
The series incorporates a floating lens element design, engineered to deliver superior, consistent image quality across the entire focusing range – from Minimum Object Distance (MOD) to infinity. The MPX lenses are optimized for compatibility with the latest high-resolution sensors, including the Sony 4th Generation Pregius S line and specific sensor models like IMX536(546/566), IMX537(547/566), IMX676, IMX266, and IMX178.
"Completing the MPX series rollout means integrators and end-users now have access to the full range of seven focal lengths," commented Terry Sekiya, Senior Vice President of Imaging & Information Technology at CBC AMERICA. "This comprehensive, high-resolution, and ruggedized lineup provides the flexibility needed to tackle the most demanding machine vision challenges across diverse industries."
